Rusty Trotter

PastorRustyTrotter
Pastor

Rusty came to Grassland Heights Baptist Church as pastor in 2003.  He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and is a graduate of Carson-Newman College and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Being a pastor, church history and yard work are his passions.  One of his favorite Scripture passages is found in Isaiah 55:8-9, “  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”  Rusty is married to Laura, who leads our Women on Mission group, and he has 2 grown daughters, Jordan and Rian.

Caleb Cummings

Student Minister

Caleb Cummings, a Mississippi native, has been serving as the Student Pastor at Grassland Heights Baptist Church since summer 2017. He has a strong desire to see students both love and know God and the Bible. Seeking to invest in and encourage students in their walks with Christ, Caleb believes people can increasingly know God through the study and application of His Word—an area the Grassland Student Ministry is deeply committed to. Caleb is engaged to Meredith O’Harra, who is a nurse at Vanderbilt and a musician in The Lowly Heirs. They love Jesus, hiking, playing catch, anything outdoors, and music!

Rick Bennett

Rick
Children's Pastor

Rick and Gina have served in Children’s ministries for several years. They enjoy working with children and seeing them mature in grace, love and building stronger relationships with their parents. Their goal is to assist parents in raising kids that come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Their favorite part of the ministry is seeing kids do something for the first time – singing a solo, cooking a smore, going bowling and accepting Jesus into their life. Also, Rick and Gina enjoy eating all the Goldfish they want.
